Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Potter: I've been thinking about something Dumbledore said to me.
Hermione: What's that?
Potter: That even though we've got a fight ahead of us ...
....we've got one thing that Voldemort doesn't have.
Ron: Yeah?
Potter: Something worth fighting for.

Merry Christmas 2007

Christmas is my favorite,
because it is a holiday season;
The season of giving,
a time to share ---
a time to prepare a new year,
with peace to embrace a new day;
Resolute to consider what we have done wrong last year,
so that we can self-renew,
into a better one,
the one that could be more honest,
to be able to live our little short-lived life right, ---
in a right way,
on the right path,
for the right reason,
with a right purpose ---
and that is why I love the Christmas.

Looking Forward a New Year

I wish you the best,
lots of happiness;
and the best of health.
For the brave one,
the one with the kindness
who has never failed to restore,
the dignity of the long lost generations;
with much sacrifices,
with much liberated spirit,
with much courage.
This one woman ---
the love and jewel of Myanmar,
the trust of Myanmar,
the heart of Myanmar.

Winter Solstice

Winter Solstice/Yule is the longest night of the year. It is a Pagan holiday, when the return of the sun is celebrated, as the days are about to get longer. At this time, there is a battle between the Holly King & Oak King, in which the Oak, repesenting lighter times, will win. Also in the Celtic/Druidic calendar, this would be the Nameless Day. This is the day in between the old year and the new year in the Druidic tree calendar, repesented by mistletoe.Many common Christmas symbols actually came from Winter Solstice when the Christians were trying to convert the Pagans in the Middle Ages. (Evergreen tree, mistletoe, yule logs, etc.)

Moon Lit Night

It has been a long, long time --- sitting and watching into the dark blue sky. Tonight, the moon is so bright although it is not a full moon. The stars are shinning like tiny diamonds sparkling around the bright moon. The sky is so clear --- not much wind, no clouds. Everything is so calm and tranquil. There are people who cannot enjoy the beauty of the night like this one. I wish for the peace and freedom for those who has been under the shadow for such a long time that they have forgotten to enjoy the simple life rights and freedom. May peace can cherish us all.

If

"The blue sky is infinitely high, crystal clear...
that's what the world should be...
a world of infinite possibilities,
laid before us, crystal clear"

Where is her Smile?

Waiting to see
the moon to rise,
Waiting to watch
the sun to rise;
Where are you,
the kind heart?
With your forgiving smile,
Again ---
Save us all from fear to fight for our own freedom.

Wisdom of the Day

To know the Way,
We go the Way;
We do the Way
The way we do
The things we do
It's all there in front of you,
But if you try too hard to see it,
You'll only become Confused.

I am me,
And you are you,
As you can see;
But when you do
The things that you can do,
You will find the Way,
And the Way will follow you.

Out of Debt

Anh Duong, Out of Debt
"This autumn, Anh was among a select few federal workers honored with Service to America Medals by the Partnership for Public Service, which recognizes especially meritorious achievements. In front of a large audience at a black-tie dinner she strode to the microphone and, speaking without notes, began: "Thirty-two years ago I came to this land as a refugee of war with a pair of empty hands and a bag full of broken dreams." Describing America as "this paradise," she said:
"This land is a paradise not because of its beauty or richness but because of its people, the compassionate, generous Americans who took my family and me in, 32 years ago, and healed our souls, who restore my faith in humanity, and who inspire me to public service. There's a special group of people that I'm especially indebted to and I would like to dedicate this medal to them. They are 58,000 Americans whose names are on the wall of the Vietnam War Memorial and the 260,000 South Vietnamese soldiers who died in that war in order for people like me to earn a second chance to freedom. May God bless all of those who are willing to die for freedom --- especially those who are willing to die for the freedom of others. Thank you."

A Strong Role Model

A mother,
a strong model,

Love of the country.
Passion of the freedom;
A guiding star,
A father-like-daughter.

A thought on Disney stories

My recent visit to Disneyland makes me thinking about Disney stories. Why Disney stories are so patriarchs? Little or no role of mother is found in most of their stories. Starting from Cinderella who is mistreated by a stepmother to Bambi whose mother was shot and kill at its young age, a good role model and a strong character of a mother is never seen in Disney stories. In most of the stories, the main characters ( usually princess) are raised up by a father, who care less about their daughters or who always have conflict or misunderstanding with their teenage daughters or sons. Those examples can be seen in the story lines of "Snow White", "Little Mermaid", "Beauty and the Beast", "Pocahontas", "Aladdin", "Finding Nemo", and "Atlantis". Mulan and sleeping beauty Aurora have both parents. However, in "Mulan", the father is the main supporting character and mother is seen very weakly. In "Sleeping Beauty", the parents did not even take the responsibility of raising up princess Aurora. Most of the other characters in different stories are parent less. For example, Aurthur in "Sword in the Stone", the little wooden boy in Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tarzan, Hercules, and Mogali in "Jungle Book". Only Simba in "Lion King" is raised up by the surviving mother lion (as far as I can remembered). It is just sad that a role of a good mother cannot be find in any of Disney stories.

World Human Right Day (Dec 10th)

Freedom to live, freedom to grow;

Freedom to speak of, and freedom to know;
Knowledge of the truth is
a true knowledge,
which has been lacking
in the toughest grip.
The grip to the greed,
the grip to the power,
the grip to the little things;
that has drawn many lives under darkest clouded cover.
Many heroes have given their lives,
Many mothers have given their hearts,
Many sons have given their fathers,
for the sake of the voice of awaken.
Awaken to choose, awaken to lose,
Awaken to learn, and awaken to earn,
To earn the life
that can bear
(we are asking nothing much---)
just the basic food, shelter, and something to wear.

Fill Your Heart with Love

As a remembrance for all to fill our hearts with love.

Where Are You Christmas
(-singer: Faith Hill)

Where are you Christmas
Why can't I find you
Why have you gone away
Where is the laughter
You used to bring me
Why can't I hear music play
My world is changing
I'm rearranging
Does that mean Christmas changes too

Where are you Christmas
Do you remember
The one you used to know
I'm not the same one
See what the time's done
Is that why you have let me go?

Christmas is here Everywhere,
oh Christmas is here If you care,
oh If there is love in your heart and your mind
You will feel like Christmas all the time
I feel you Christmas
I know I've found you
You never fade away
The joy of Christmas Stays here inside us
Fills each and every heart with love

Where are you Christmas
Fill your heart with love

Ready or Not

.

.

.

Here it comes
end of the year ---
at this far end of the world,
where we are
jingling the bells and
holly jollying the white Christmas.

In the deep silent night;
I've been wishing for my home
humming the king's tune of
'I'll be home for Christmas'
but ----

Will you be able to count on me??
(I'm not so sure)
My thoughts are at a blur and
I've been so far, ---far away
for a long,--- long time
and I've lost my track of time
while walking in this side of winter wonderland.

Yet again
before I know;
Ready or not, here it comes;
the end of another year.
Yes, another year.

Just another year.

With Her

Let's go altogether
with much smiles, strength
and happiness
together with her wisdom and guidence,
to the east
to the sun
towards our freedom
to our land
to have our own destiny.
with you and me.

Lost

It's been awhile that I couldn't concentrate on the routine life, I couldn't write much about anything, and I couldn't interest in anything ---- and is so disturbing. I feel like I've been waiting for something, --- a change, a new hope, a new life to spring. I thought I have seen the rain, but now the rain has stopped, it has stopped or --- may be drizzling here and there often, sometimes, meanwhile ---. I want to know if the rain has stopped again or is waiting for a good wind so that it can disperse the rain to anywhere, everywhere needed. Why is the darkening sky has never been gone away? Why the dark clouds are always there hiding the bright sun? When will the sun be brighten again to reflect the golden land? With the clouds and the heavy rain, the green wild plants are flourishing boundlessly, --- but don't we need some sun shine?? Plain old sun shine to let the wildly growing young trees to mature so that they can bear the refreshingly scented flowers and nourishable fruits which will carry on the meaningful messages over generations. Mix sun shine and rain for the sake of the growth of younger generations. Please, please bring back the natural order or we will be so lost, ---lost in the maze of the clouds, --- lost in the maze of the crowds, --- lost in the maze of the dying sprouts.
