Feng Shui of the Flags
Flags are the essential part of the human state of mind. It resembles and represents the group of people with the same purpose. We need to consider all the weaknesses and strong points of the symbols that we will be using to represent ourselves. Americans use eagle to represent their courage and bravery. If you think of it, eagle is a very powerful bird, which has a powerful sight and strength. It flies high in the sky. They use force and specification to attack their opponent or the prey. All of the characters of eagle is very auspicious. In contrast, no offense, when Burmese student groups chooses the fighting peacock as their symbol of persistent fighting with a brave heart, I think peacock is not very powerful. The main high light of the fighting peacock is their bravery to fight until death prevail them. It is not too auspicious. And if you pay attention to the history of the Burmese student groups, since the use of the peacock flag, mass and mass of students sacrifice had repeated in the history. Peacocks are very easily spotted without any camouflage and may be that's why student leaders are always easily arrested by the military intelligence most of the time. Peacocks are slow moving. They cannot fly too high and most of the time they are passive. On the other hand, the animal symbol used by the Burmese military is a lion. Lion are known to be king of the jungle. May be that's why it has been so hard to overthrow them. But every animal has inevitable weaknesses and flaws. Lions are known to keep power in one leader which is not very democratic. There is a proverb that "No two lions share one cave". That is why, on the side of the military leaders, there always is a power struggle for the number one spot and there always exist the paranoia of the number one who is always afraid of the other lions in his pack who has potential to take over his throne. In summary, I suggest that the Burmese student group should seriously consider to pick another powerful auspicious symbol to carry as their flag together with the peacock flag which should never be forgotten.
