American Pie

Our share of American Pie, how is the outcome of prosperous confidence, --- we wonder, ponder upon and prepare to be stronger on whatever the future may be. Ever popular our celebrity president has been reassuring our American dreams. Just as our President has reassured, I believe that American dream is still there, in a very reachable distance, just that there are more and more immoral crooks, who have been populating the world, and the slice of the pie of an average Joe's have become smaller and smaller. Let's look into the the fact that our glass is still half full, and I love this half full glass because else where lots of glasses have been empty for a long time and some even have been shattered into pieces. So, what are we afraid of --- like a saying " the past is the history, the future is the mystery, enjoy each and every moment as a gift. That is why it is called the present."

Enjoy!

This is one of the great American songs from 1960s. Check the meaning and listen song here:

by Don Mclean

A long, long time ago...
I can still remember
How that music used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance
That I could make those people dance
And, maybe, they'd be happy for a while.

But february made me shiver
With every paper I'd deliver.
Bad news on the doorstep;
I couldn't take one more step.

I can't remember if I cried
When I read about his widowed bride,
But something touched me deep inside
The day the music died.

So bye-bye, miss american pie.
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock 'n roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?

Well, I know that you're in love with him
`cause I saw you dancin' in the gym.
You both kicked off your shoes.
Man, I dig those rhythm and blues.

I was a lonely teenage broncin' buck
With a pink carnation and a pickup truck,
But I knew I was out of luck
The day the music died.

I started singin',
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

Now for ten years we've been on our own
And moss grows fat on a rollin' stone,
But that's not how it used to be.
When the jester sang for the king and queen,
In a coat he borrowed from james dean
And a voice that came from you and me,

Oh, and while the king was looking down,
The jester stole his thorny crown.
The courtroom was adjourned;
No verdict was returned.
And while lennon read a book of marx,
The quartet practiced in the park,
And we sang dirges in the dark
The day the music died.

We were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

Helter skelter in a summer swelter.
The birds flew off with a fallout shelter,
Eight miles high and falling fast.
It landed foul on the grass.
The players tried for a forward pass,
With the jester on the sidelines in a cast.

Now the half-time air was sweet perfume
While the sergeants played a marching tune.
We all got up to dance,
Oh, but we never got the chance!
`cause the players tried to take the field;
The marching band refused to yield.
Do you recall what was revealed
The day the music died?

We started singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

Oh, and there we were all in one place,
A generation lost in space
With no time left to start again.
So come on: jack be nimble, jack be quick!
Jack flash sat on a candlestick
Cause fire is the devil's only friend.

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan's spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
The day the music died

He was singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
And singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I'd heard the music years before,
But the man there said the music wouldn't play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
The day the music died.

And they were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
And them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die.
"this'll be the day that I die."

They were singing,
"bye-bye, miss american pie."
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin' whiskey and rye
Singin', "this'll be the day that I die."

My Daffodils

Round and round we go ---

in this wheel of passing time.
I'd love to stop and watch the daffodils
However, the time has passing by
and I have to pass by.

If it is my destiny,
I'll be back to thee;
My Daffodils.

Wisdom

The wise find pleasure in water,
the virtuous find pleasure in hills.
The wise are active;
the virtuous are tranquil.
The wise are joyful,
the virtuous are long-lived.

Natural Destruction

In nature, everything that has grown bigger than what it can consume on has to die of eventually by natural means. Beyond the carrying capacity, the limit approaches to zero. Whoever, smart enough to be aware of their growth would keep the little critter alive to consume on. Why do we need a huge mound of middle class in a prosperous nation? Worker bees are to built the hive, find the food, and to protect the queen bee's prosperity. Without the worker bees, the queen will be left with just the drones who would not have much intelligence of creating a well organized properly functioning prosperous hive. A queen bee who does not over look the growth of the young worker bees will eventually die off --- much like a committing a self-defeat, by entrapping herself in the failing hive --- without any honey left. Some queen bees just do not have a natural instinct and are doom to fail the hive as well as themselves. But most of the time, greed has led us to get that last drop of honey, forgetting those black and white mice who has been biting away the strings of the only rope that we are holding onto which has left us to dangle at the side of the cliff. Are we scare off falling off the cliff? How many of us think of climbing up the cliff and reaching to the safe ground?

Under the Sun

Half of the day, we are in the shadow. When it is cloudy or rainy, we are mostly in the shadow even if we are walking out in the day light. However, we stay indoor mostly, at home, at office, inside the buildings. At times, we are exposed to the sun and we needed sunscreen to protect ourselves from the sun rays. When we were young, we were told that the sun ray can kill the germs. Now, it seems like the sun rays are not only killing the germs, but also critter like us. Are we becoming germs so that the sun rays have to kill us? We have been plaguing the world with our greed for comfort. We have polluted and trash the only place that we can dwell on so far. The world has changed so are we. No matter what, we are hand in hand, for better or worse, to be able to live beyond our limiting capacity.

Lyrics
For Better or For Worse

by Irma

My heart is full of hope
In spite of my mistakes
I have learned the hardest way
Just how to take the praise
With memories bitter sweet
I’ll try it second time
The mystery of life
Somehow I’ll get to write
Somehow I’ll get to write

*For better or for worse
I am in this crazy world
For better or for worse
Though I am just a fragile girl
No matter what life brings
I know I am not in this alone*

The pleasure in the pain
All melt in perfect bliss
When I forget to blame
Forgive that I (can’t hear clearly)
When everything goes wrong
Somehow I keep the faith
Into my darkest days
When love borders on hate
When love borders on hate

**For better or for worse
I am in this crazy world
For better or for worse
Though I am just a fragile girl
No matter what life brings
I know I am not in this alone

For better or for worse
I’ll see it to the end
For better or for worse
I’ll try to comprehend
Each twist and turn of fate
Before it is too late**

Taking each day as it comes
When tomorrow takes care of itself

Repeat **
For better or for worse

Broken Wing

Bright eyes
full of pain;
Can't miss this expression,
which has stopped my heart
beating
for a while.

Where is all the air
in this room?
Everything is a blur.
I was panic,
I was super focus,
It was as clear as
it had been a blur.

What a moment;
a moment that has stolen my heart beat;

With love,
with magic,
with a practice,
this broken wing is fixed.
As good as new,
heading to the sky
to the infinity
to reach her destiny.

I Love You Goodbye

Sadness has come to me,
in the late evening;
in the whispering wind.
I see the sun
leaving us behind,
in the hand of secret moon.
The world is beautiful;
as the way it is.
As sadness has come,
Love will lead up to the brim,
to the fullest extent;
Just to say to yo that
I love you;
Goodbye.

Translation:
Goodbye My Love

I won't forget neither your voice
nor your kind way nor the warmth of your hand
I won't forget neither when we kissed
That's right nor your name

good-bye my love, in this street corner
good-bye my love, let's walk on

You take the right and I, the left
the one to look back loses

good-bye my love, hold me once more
good-bye my love, my tears

that fall on your cheeks
are not feigned

I won't forget neither your voice
nor your kind way nor the warmth of your hand
I won't forget neither when we kissed
That's right nor your name

good-bye my love, if our love
good-bye my love, was true
one day we'll meet again, this won't be
a real good-bye

I won't forget neither your voice
nor your kind way nor the warmth of your hand
I won't forget neither when we kissed
That's right nor your name

I won't forget neither your voice
nor your kind way nor the warmth of your hand
I won't forget neither when we kissed
That's right nor your name

For sure, nor your name

In the Rain

In this heavy rain.
Just the way it was;
for you and me.
Freeing our emotions in sky,
beyond the agony.

In this heavy rain.

While holding hands
We were farther and farther;
stretching thinner than ever;
Unbelievable to me.

In this heavy rain.

The fresh cold rain,
The sharp chilly wind,
and the dark rain clouds
Binding us into our soul,
to an eternal strain;

In this heavy rain.

Watching Eyes

Watch me grow
Watch me shine, watch me smile,
and watch me divine.
There is a naked truth;
There also are
pure imaginations,
free thoughts,
honest opinions
and unbounded affection.

It's all just for you
if you consider to take it
or even thought of breaking it.
I would love the watching eyes.
I would thank the watching eyes.
I would accompany the watching eyes.
So,
Watch me grow

Watch me shine, watch me smile,
and watch me divine.

Go ahead and Rain on Me

The dark rain clouds
and the pitter pater tears of the vast sky
has bringing down the most vulnerable of
my pink cherry blossoms.
Even the bright pink has turning into
a pale pink now.
It is sad, yet sort of tranquil.
Solitude has brought me to the aching of
loosing my good friends into
the war of greed and power.
It is still raining.
And
I am still smiling---
with much politeness
with much never surrendering
heart of pride.
At least if I cannot help the poor,
I would not help the richer
to ruthlessly stepping on the poor.

Being Sentimental

Sentiment
as we sometimes have.
Sad songs,
make us realize --
the fullness
and emptiness of
our life moments.

Translation:

Even though you're always by my side,
one day you'll just pass me by
There was always a line drawn down the middle of us
You know how I am, I'm always one step behind
I must have ignored what my heart was trying to tell me
Watching you looking like you were about to burst into tears
I just pushed you away silently
I think I know, trying not to make my heart feel sorry
You tried your best
I had a person like you by my side and
didn't even realize love had come to me
Even til the moment you left
I didn't realize that love had left me
I now know that my heart is aching because of you
I'm so sorry my love is too late
I didn't even know my own heart
And yet I used to go around pretending to know what love was
I'm so tired, because I think of you so much
and because I can't remember
Just thinking of that one thing I start to tear up again
I had a person like you by my side
and didn't even realize love had come to me
Even til the moment you left
I didn't realize that love had left me
I now know that my heart is aching because of you
I'm so sorry my love is too late
I must have kept fooling myself
and turning my head the other way
I must have caused myself pain
because I was afraid of happiness
You haven't forgotten me yet right,
you're attachment is always one step behind
If I wait you'll come won't you,
it's my turn to be in pain
From now on I'll be your best love
My beginning is slower than yours
Longer than you
I'll love you even more than you loved me

Away

Missing you from far away land,
and sending my sentiments in a whispering wind;
Hoping that you would catch a piece of it.
The mountains are greener now than ever,
Cherries are blooming again,
yet I felt that we have been farther than ever.
Let me touch the deep blue sky,
Let me kiss the passing wind,
Let me cry in the scolding rain,
Let me smile in the bright sunshine;
And
Let me count the days,
to one day,
someday,
the day
that we have yet to meet again.

Can't be Described

Her sacrifice is
Just for people.
And
That's why,
people love her.

Love her for
who she is.
And
What she stands for.

The gratitude
towards her pursuit
can't be described.

Catchy Incident

It is simple,
straight to the point.
Nothing poetic
but subtly romantic.
Rhythm is superb catchy.
Incidentally
it is a coming back song.
The song that has reversed ---
my attention span of Dixie Chicks Grammy,
a couple of years ago.
It is a memorable incident.
In a way it is bitterly pure and honest.

My Life would Suck without You
by Kelly Clarkson

Guess this means you’re sorry
You’re standing at my door
Guess this means you take back
What you said before
Like how much you wanted
Anyone but me
Said you’d never come back
But here you are again
Cuz we belong together now

Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Maybe I was stupid for telling you goodbye
Maybe I was wrong for tryin’ to pick a fight
I know that I’ve got issues
But you’re pretty messed up too
Anyway, I found out I’m nothing without you
Cuz we belong together now

Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you
Being with you is so dysfunctional
I really shouldn’t miss you, but I can’t let go
Oh yeah
Cuz we belong together now
Forever united here somehow
You got a piece of me
And honestly
My life would suck without you

Winter

Let there be snow,
Let there be rain,
Let there be cold breeze,
to bring back the loving memories of winter.

It is a new year,
but in the bliss of this beautiful winter,
I still remember the old days;
that were not too far away.
the days of joy and excitement,
the days of despair and unhappiness,

Yet
I am still in love with this cold, cold winter;
Bitter yet sweet,
Deep in the heart;
Unbearable
but unforgettable.

Lyrics:
Unforgettable
by Nat King Cole
Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more
Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too
Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too

Feelings

There inside, deep down the bottom of the heart,
I felt heavy; heavy with the sentiments.
There are questions need to be answered,
I need to know; I would love to know,
Why this obsession to be righteous is
dragging my heart to sink.

Love Poem

Once I was a beautiful shell
Giving life to the creatures of the sea
Tides and time pounded on me, breaking me bit by bit

Then I was stuck nowhere to go...
The barnacles found a place to dwell
But Mother Ocean gave me a second chance

The tides washed me upon the shore
There I lay waiting in the sun, dull and chipped and ugly
Then, you came along and found me

The barnacles were picked, the sand washed off
You polished me up and brought out my luster...
I'm still chipped with imperfections
But you laid me out for everyone to see...
The beautiful colors inside me

Now I'm shiny with colors and gold
The tides have yet to see me grow old
With the tenderness and care you gave me
I am once again a beautiful shell

I Want to Remember

Righteous---one
would rather be unpopular and hated;
than lying and dishonest.

Strong spirited ---one
would rather be alone and content;
than selling out the soul and becoming evil.

Independent ---one
would rather destroy the relationship;
than forcing by others to do what they think is right.

A New Day

A new year to start our new days.
Looking forward to a brighter future,
and I am still content with what I have.
There are times I thought myself that
I should inject a little greed to my life.
Or may be not.
The hardest thing is to resolve the sadness away.
Emotions are very fragile and are sort of a mix of colorful spectrum.
I want to be prepared to keep our emotions
on check and
live more mindfully.
Honestly.
Simply.
Heartfully.
In this wonderful, wonderful world.
For tomorrows to come.

Lyrics:
Tomorrow
from Annie Musical

The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
Bet your bottom dollar
That tomorrow

There'll be sun!

Just thinkin' about
Tomorrow
Clears away the cobwebs,
And the sorrow

'Til there's none!

When I'm stuck a day
That's gray,
And lonely,

I just stick out my chin
And Grin,
And Say,

Oh!
The sun'll come out
Tomorrow
So ya gotta hang on
'Til tomorrow

Come what may

Tomorrow! Tomorrow!
I love ya Tomorrow!
You're always
A day
A way

Ready made Resolution

Another year to new.
With another resolution??
Of course I have
a ready made resolution.
Well planned
and well thought of.
Here is a few.
A few that goes in my list.
As is.

I would love to travel.
Make new friends.
See the world.
Embrace the abundance of culture.
Try something new.
Renew the old dear one.
Build a castle.
Organize my world.
Walk in the sun.
And ---
Hike that mountain to the peak.
Make a memorable,
just to mark a milestone.
Smile and laugh more often.
Forget the unforgiven;
Forgive the unforgotten;
And stretch my happiness
towards the infinity.
beyond my limiting capacity.

(by Clapton, Dylan, Harrison, Young, Petty, McGuinn)
Lyrics:
My Back Pages
by Bob Dylan

Crimson flames tied through my ears
Rollin' high and mighty traps
Pounced with fire on flaming roads
Using ideas as my maps
"We'll meet on edges, soon," said I
Proud 'neath heated brow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Half-wracked prejudice leaped forth
"Rip down all hate," I screamed
Lies that life is black and white
Spoke from my skull. I dreamed
Romantic flocks of musketeers
Foundationed deep, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Girls' faces formed the forward path
From phony jealousy
To memorizing politics
Of ancient history
Flung down by corpse evangelists
Unthought of, though, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

A self-ordained professor's tongue
Too serious to fool
Spouted out that liberty
Is just equality in school
"Equality," I spoke the word
As if a wedding vow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

In a soldier's stance, I aimed my hand
At the mongrel dogs who teach
Fearing not I'd become my enemy
In the instant that I preach
My existence led by confusion boats
Mutiny from stern to bow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Yes, my guard stood hard when abstract threats
Too noble to neglect
Deceived me into thinking
I had something to protect
Good and bad, I define these terms
Quite clear, no doubt, somehow.
Ah, but I was so much older then,
I'm younger than that now.

Coincidence

Little coincidences
pass by.
Unintentionally,
just a flick of second,
which seems like it has been destiny to be.

Are we going to grab it
Or are we going to let it by?

Probably---
some moments are destined to be
while others are simply coincidences.
When the tiny events coincides each other,
it creates a mosaic of unexpected touch in life.

Do dare to play unsafe sometimes.
Be liberal. Take a risk.
Do dare to confess your feelings.

Lyrics:
Some Hearts are Diamonds
by Chris Norman

Open your heart to all of those years
Baby you look through a rainbow of tears.
You watched your dreams all fadin' away
This time you're right
oh you make my day.
Years may come
years may go
But I still love you and I want you to know:
Some hearts are diamonds
Some hearts are stone
Some days you're tired of being alone.
Some hearts are diamonds
Some hearts are stone
It takes two lovers to be as one.
Illusions of love
they'll come and they'll go
Trust in your heart
may be your love will grow.
Your silent tears they're so full of pride
Baby I know that you can't run and hide.
You need love like I do
I hope you want me like I know I want you.
Some hearts are diamonds
some hearts are stone---
Some hearts are diamonds
some hearts are stone---
Some hearts are diamonds
some hearts are stone
Some days you're tired of being alone
Some hearts are diamonds

Home

Home is a land very far far a way.
Once upon a life time.
Home is existing
only in my dreams now.

I have left my home
and lost my way of going back.
Or could it be that the home has left me?

Home is a place where there were green and golden paddies.
The orange red sun rises at the horizon in the early morning fog.
A river that flows from north to south.
And a flock of white cranes that can fly so close by the roof.

Colorful kites roam and fight in a clear blue sky.
The evening breeze that carry the tide in the evenings.
The sound of the rain drops on the metal roof.
The fragrance of the jasmine in the early morning
and that of Saun-daw-kuu in the late night breeze.

The sound of the hollow log from a far;
The joy of carrying a rain drop on a Pain leaf;
The smell of a sticky rice and steamed beans at the dawn;
Romantic art of pressing the Kha-yay flowers in the journals;
Morning dews on the spider web.

Every sense is a dim memory in the far away land of memory.
A treasure that has lost over time.
A home that I used to know is not existing anymore.

It exists;
Only in my dreams.
When I can dream.
And yet, there are times
that I still want to be home,
The home that I used to know.

Lyrics
I'll be Home for Christmas

I'm dreamin' tonight of a place I love
Even more then I usually do
And although I know it's a long road back
I promise you
I'll be home for Christmas
You can count on me
Please have snow and mistletoe
And presents under the tree

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams

Christmas Eve will find me
Where the love light beams
I'll be home for Christmas
If only in my dreams
If only in my dreams
